Imagine... @ 18:25

A system where you are automatically banned from licenced premises and you have to opt in to have the ban removed. To protect the children from the perils of alcohol.

A system where you are forbidden from buying fast food and you have to sign a special agreement that allows you to have a burger. To protect the children from poor diets

A system where you are unable to access websites unless you specifically ask your ISP for permission. Protecting children from things they shouldn't see.

Children. You have them. It's your responsibility to manage them.

The reason these systems don't exist is because the government makes money on the tax on booze, the fast food industry employs people which looks good and they've not yet worked out how to control the internet and get the ISPs to play along.

It would make more sense to make all expecting parents attend compulsory parenting courses and be assessed for their capabilities - after all, people who apply to adopt children have to go through all sorts of psychological analysis and prove that they are suitable to be parents, so why not just do the same to those who have their own sprogs?

The government take enough of my money in taxation on my booze, fags, petrol, wages and anything else they can think of. I don't need them taking any more of this dirty old man

I couldn't agree more. Hannah has internet access. I remotely monitor what she is up to, I have Family safe enabled. If she does visit a site or a game that I don't feel is suitable I explain to her why I don't think it's suitable for someone of her age, at which point she stays away from it
